Jay Davis Quartet with James Copus (trumpet), James Allsopp (sax/clt) & Huw Williams (bass)
Local Yokels is a new project led by drummer Jay Davis. In a blend of open improvising and original compositions, each member lends their voice through a mutual love of spontaneous music making and the blurring of the lines between improvisation and written material. Davis’s music is inspired by a mixture of Rock, Jazz, Classical, and Choral music whilst the countryside and overheard song provide further fuel to the compositions.
